Did
You Know That Your Old Eyeglasses Could Be Repaired?
The Musquodoboit
Valley Lions Club is collecting used prescription eyeglasses and prescription
and non-prescription sunglasses as part of a unique recycling
program. The collected glasses will be cleaned and prepared for
distribution in developing countries where eye care is often
unaffordable and inaccessible.
Your old eyeglasses will give some needy person sight - for some
people, most likely, for the first time in their lives.
Even
if the glasses are broken, they will be gladly accepted. Parts
are used for repair work.
To
donate used glasses (including sunglasses and reading glasses),
place them in the specially marked Lions "Recycle For Sight"
collection boxes located at Haverstock's PharmaSave, Valley View
Villa, the emergency wing of the Musquodoboit Valley Memorial
Hospital, and Braeside Home for Special Care.
For
more info, please call Lion Meredith at 384-2313.
