Adopt-a-Highway

May 9, 2009

10am - 2pm

Since 1996, the Musquodoboit Valley Lions Club has rallied together many community-oriented volunteers to participate in our annual Adopt-a-Highway project. In the past, the following community groups and organizations have participated in this fun-filled day:

  • Riverside 4H

  • Upper Musquodoboit Women's Institute

  • Mount Traber

  • Upper Musquodoboit Volunteer Fire Dept.

  • Musquodoboit Valley Tourism Association

Each year, the Lions and community volunteers clean up he five kilometer stretch of Highway 224 between the properties of Angus Redden and Jeannie Deale. Volunteer helpers (12 years and older) are always welcome and encouraged to participate!

If you want to help clean up the litterbug mess and general highway debris and assist your Musquodoboit Valley Lions, please come out and join us! Bagged trash can be placed at the roadside and will be collected by the Lions and toted to the dump. To those who have already cleaned up in front of your own property or anywhere else in our community, the Lions extend a huge Thank You!

Have a browse through our photo gallery for more pics of happy volunteers who participated in past highway cleanups.
